About the Course

Bandon Preserve is a 13-hole par-3 course designed by Tom Doak, perched on the cliffs above the Pacific. Each hole plays between 75 and 220 yards, requiring only short irons and wedges — but the wind and ocean backdrop create a unique and challenging experience. A portion of green fees supports The Nature Conservancy.

What to Know Before You Play

Course-specific intel for your round

  • 1

Wind is king on a par-3 course — even a 100-yard shot can require a 7-iron when the wind is howling in off the ocean.

  • 2

The course sits on the highest elevation at Bandon. Bring a rain jacket regardless of the forecast — conditions change fast up here.

  • 3

No caddies assigned here — take your time, be deliberate, and have fun. This is the most fun you'll have in under 2 hours on a golf course.

  • 4

The greens are generous in size but severely sloped. Leave putts below the hole — above the hole at Preserve is a 3-putt waiting to happen.

  • 5

This is a great warmup round. Use it to dial in your wedge distances with the wind, as those distances will apply on the par-3s of the other courses too.

Course Personality

Pure joy. The most fun two hours in golf. Thirteen clifftop par-3s with ocean views on every hole and no bogey can really hurt you.
