About the Course

The newest of the full courses at Bandon, Sheep Ranch opened in 2020 after years of anticipation. Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, it sits on a promontory directly above the Pacific — virtually every hole offers dramatic ocean views. Unlike the other courses, Sheep Ranch features no out-of-bounds and plays more like a pure links experience with a bounce-and-run approach encouraged everywhere.

What to Know Before You Play

Course-specific intel for your round

  • 1

There is NO out of bounds at Sheep Ranch — if you can find it and swing at it, it's in play. This is a pure links game; embrace the bump-and-run and let the land do the work.

  • 2

The wind here is the most exposed of all Bandon courses. With ocean on three sides of the promontory, wind can shift 90 degrees between holes. Check direction at every tee.

  • 3

Lower slopes and rating make this the most 'approachable' of the full courses — but don't mistake it for easy. The ocean wind and fescue rough will humble you quickly.

  • 4

The views are absolutely stunning on every hole. Give yourself extra time to soak it in. Photos will not do it justice but you'll take many anyway.

  • 5

This is the newest course and has fewer established yardage references in public guides. Trust your caddie or ask the starter for yardage book recommendations.

Course Personality

The newest and most dramatic. Sheep Ranch sits on the most exposed promontory with ocean views on every hole. A pure links experience with no OB and maximum scenery.
